About the event

NOW MORE THAN EVER, WE NEED TO FEEL LIKE WE BELONG

With COVID-19, we’re experiencing a different world. We’ve had to adjust the way we live and work, where we go, and how we connect.

Some have lost loved ones or currently can’t be with them. Others have lost jobs, many are struggling with immense uncertainty.

Now, more than ever, a sense of belonging and inclusion is key. So is the freedom to thrive and be appreciated for who you are, even as we move into self-isolation.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS

Discrimination and exclusion touch many across genders, disabilities, creed and colour. A sense of belonging and inclusion may also be a struggle for many right now as we move through self-isolation.

That sense of belonging is a human need that improves mental well-being and physical health. It is fulfilled by trust, friendship, social connections, a giving and receiving of love, compassion and kindness.

Inclusive Aotearoa Collective Tāhono has a mission to build a social movement that creates lasting change by enabling each person and community to claim their place in Aotearoa New Zealand, while recognising the right of others to do so too.

They want to hear from you about what it feels like to belong, what hinders this, and what needs to change - so that its Strategy for Belonging and Inclusion is formed based on your insights and our communities’ collective voices.

ABOUT THIS ONLINE EVENT

Each online event will be facilitated by Anjum Rahman - project lead and Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to ethnic communities and women.

Spaces are limited to 12 attendees per event - and run for 90-minutes
